Do you already have a character here on AU? If yes, who is it, and who gave you permission to make this one?: No
Physical Appearance: Helen has light skin, brown eyes, and wavy black hair. She has a pleasant smile when in a good mood, but she can never seem to hide her other emotions on that same face. She's 5'2'' and weighs 110 lbs. Her normal wardrobe is always super fancy. It's almost like she has nothing else to wear! For instance, the first day of school, she wears a red dress over black tights and white boots. On her hair, which is tied into a bun, she wears a black head band. There are more than just this, but this is just an example. She also has names for her outfits. This one she calls the 'Refined Ruby'. So when she tells one of her friends the name of the outfit, they get an idea of what it looks like.
Personality: Helen is a diligent, strong-minded individual who tries her best in everything she does. However, academically, she isn't the smartest. She can't keep a good grade, and she just barely passed High School. So, she is kind of discouraged when it comes to schooling, but she is more than interested in the Pokemon that make it into the book of legends. In other words, Legendary Pokemon. She wonders what they think about, what thoughts go through their minds when they do the things they do. For instance, what is Celebi thinking when it time travels? What is Jirachi thinking when it grants a wish? And even what is Kyorgre or Dialga thinking when they've almost wrecked and entire city, or even planet? These are things that keep her doing her best in her major. She'd always been very sensitive about living things, and doesn't prefer Pokemon over humans or vice versa. Helen believes all living things, human and Pokemon alike, are equally important. Yes, she hates Pokemon abuse, but she doesn't appreciate people neglecting to help a fellow human when a Pokemon is in danger. She also doesn't believe that Pokemon are completely perfect and have no accountability for what they do. After all, they can't be intelligent and not be accountable for their actions. Pick one or the other, man!
Character Background: Helen grew up in a ranch in Drifveil City where education wasn't as important as physical labor. So Helen wasn't very intellectually valuable, but anyone could work. Her parents were a bit clueless to say the least. They didn't realize how important education was in this generation, so by the time they did, it was too late for her to be very successful in school. As proof, Helen just barely made it out of High School, and then they tried to get her to work on the farm again. However, Helen found interest in Legendary Pokemon when a High School friend gave her a book on them. She read through the book, and was absolutely set on being able to communicate with them somehow. She left the ranch life, much to her parent's dismay but without their objection, and left for the Arceus University.
Roleplay Sample: This was so unfair! What did Helen do to deserve this? "All I wanted to do is sit around and watch TV. Was that too much to ask?" To her, no. But apparently it was, because here she was, going to the Pokemon Lab to get her first Pokemon so that she could start her journey. Most kids would be thrilled, but Helen wasn't "most kids". People could be cruel and mean, but they could find harmony in knowing that they have their Pokemon with them. Well, Helen was definitely an odd ball no matter how you looked at her, because she just couldn't stand Pokemon! After all, they're the ones that kept her mother from her, and now they were gonna keep her away from her father too. Yep. She really hated them.
Finding the Pokemon Lab would be frustrating if she really cared to find it, which she didn't. The sixteen-year old would try wasting her time so much, that, eventually, she'd turn back home and tell her father that there wasn't a lab. But then a thought hit her. What if he made her try to catch a Pokemon in the wild? The girl gulped at the thought, and was slightly more desperate in finding the lab. She honestly didn't care how she'd find it, but she didn't want to go all the way back home and find out that she had to catch a Pokemon in the wild. That would be way too much work.
So, let's just say that Helen wasn't in a very good mood. A man bumped into her with an Oddish in his arms that seemed to be injured. "Sorry ma'am... I didn't see where I-"
"Watch, bub!" She cut him off, shoving him to the ground and walking away before he could respond. Yes, she was in a horrid mood. Absolutely the last person anyone would want to deal with, especially on a nice day like this. Well, unfortunately, Professor Maxwell would have to deal with her. Hopefully, his warm demeanor wouldn't be broken by this brutal teen.
The moment she saw the lab, she didn't get any happier, and might've actually became angrier. Helen honestly didn't care to know what time it was and just wanted to get this over with. Various newbie trainers with various goals were coming out of the with their Starter Pokemon, whether it be Bulbasaur or Oshawott, she saw all of them. Oh what a joy... The wonder of Pokemon right at her fingertips... Just like she always dreaded... Regardless, Helen forced her hand to grab the knob and start turning it. So far so good? She'd soon see about that...
