Physical Appearance:
Professor Cedar stands 5’11”. Medium length brown hair and hazel eyes with a strong jaw. Can usually be seen wearing a white lab coat with black slacks and a beige button-up decorated with a brown tie. He has reading glasses sticking out of the pocket on his shirt.
Personality:
Professor Cedar is always calm. There has only been a hand full of times in which he lost his cool. Very knowledgeable in most topics and is usually more than happy to elaborate. He is very tough on his students for the simple fact that if anyone of them came in contact with a Legendary Pokemon it could be dangerous.
Character Background:
Jack Cedar graduated at the top of his class at the best university in the Johto Region. After completing his doctorate, he traveled to the regions of Unova, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kanto to learn about the history freelance style. Along his travels he met his two pokemon, Peter, the electric spider pokemon known as Joltik and Claire the psychic pokemon Ralts. Together they studied the Unown hieroglyphs and the legends of Arceus.
After studying the myths and legends of the four regions, Jack received an invitation to teach at the renowned Arceus University.
Roleplay Sample:
At his mahogany wood desk laid several stacks of paper. Some were students’ essays others were apart of his research. Professor Jack Cedar sipped on his coffee, black of course, as some thoughts played in his head. His classes this semester were going as scheduled and the students were making decent grades and eager to learn more.
Underneath the papers was a large calendar with a date circled in red ink. It marked the day he and his pokemon would travel back to the Johto Region to explore the Ruins of Alph again. Johto’s mysteries were always an interesting topic for the Professor and there was an abundance of information left for him to learn.
Peter, Cedar’s Joltik, climbed up his leg and his shirt finding a resting place his owner’s front pocket. On one of the walls sat a small, cushioned chair. In it stirred a white and green pokemon named Claire. Sensing her trainer’s excitement, she opened one eye to check on him. After seeing that he calmed down, Claire closed her open eye and drifted back to sleep against the pillow in the chair.
That night, Jack stayed up late and graded the massive stack of research papers about the history of the legendary birds in the Johto Region.
A gentle nudge woke Jack. The sunlight seeped through the heavy curtains in the window and the desk lamp maintained the cozy atmosphere. He looked at where he was nudged at to find Claire wiping away the sleep from her eyes and yawning. Peter moved from his spot in the shirt pocket and into the nook of Jack’s elbow to stay warm. Carefully, he picked up the sleeping spider and returned him to the shirt pocket. Claire found her pokeball in the lab coat hanging from the back of the chair. After poking the center of the ball, she disappeared inside of the sphere with a flash of white light.
Professor Cedar straightened his belongings on the desk and pushed the stack of graded papers to the corner. Saturday was the trio’s walking day. Soon after the cleaning was done, Peter woke up and zapped the professor enough to show him he was annoyed with all the moving. Jack apologized and moved slower careful not to wake the temper-mental bug again.
